MAORI TOURS KAIKOURA
Descendants of the original indigenous people of Kaikoura guide guests through ancient sites, explain the legends as handed down through generations, teach the traditional uses of trees and plants, the ancient customs and protocols.
NGA HAU E WHA NATIONAL MARAE
This is one of New Zealand’s largest urban Marae, offering an insight into traditional and modern Maori culture. Two spectacularly carved meeting houses can accommodate several hundred guests and there is a large concert hall and break out rooms.
