There are many activities around the Christchurch & Canterbury region for those who would like to enjoy some time relaxing.

CHRISTCHURCH GONDOLA
The 945 metre gondola lifts visitors to the crater rim of an extinct volcano at the summit of the Port Hills for spectacular 360º views over Christchurch City, Lyttelton Harbour, Banks Peninsula, Canterbury Plains, the Southern Alps, city beaches and suburbs. Dining and entertainment is offered.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAM
The ideal way to see the inner city and its many heritage buildings is on vintage trams around the city circuit. Full commentary is provided and visitors may get on and off as many times as they wish with a single ticket and explore the attractions and shopping en route. In the evenings a restaurant tram provides a unique cocktail or dining experience.

FISHING
There are many rivers and lakes throughout the region which offer the opportunity to strike brown or rainbow trout or salmon. Professional guides introduce you to their special places and can provide transport, equipment, licence and tuition if required. Charter boats for deep sea fishing or diving are available along the Canterbury coastline and around Banks Peninsula.

GOLF
There are almost sixty golf courses around Christchurch and Canterbury, including Hagley Golf Course in heart of the city just a few minutes’ walk from central hotels. There are also two international golf resorts - Clearwater Golf Resort in its oasis of lush parkland, rippling trout streams and crystal lakes, and Terrace Downs with its stunning mountain backdrop and spectacular views over the Rakaia River Gorge.
